"Dayton UA711M Speaker Maple" Overview
Dayton Audio's Dr. Joseph D'Appolito-designed UA711 speaker exhibits well-behaved and consistent coverage both horizontally and vertically. A 2 kHz crossover point contributes to the excellent transition between the Usher 9950C-15 tweeter and Usher 8836AC woofer. The diminutive UA711 excels as surrounds or the main L/R speakers in moderately sized rooms. The Usher woofer's response can reach down to around 50 – 60 Hz, which is appropriate for many listening situations. For realistic home theater use, or as part of a music playback setup, the UA711 can also be used with a subwoofer to create a bigger "full range" sound. Thanks to the smooth, gentle sealed-box roll off, a THX-recommended low-frequency crossover of 80 Hz is easy to implement if required.
